Ignite summer special was amazing! God was so obviously present and so many young people responded to that.
The theme of the evening was worship. Worship is such an important part of our relationship with God. It’s a place in which we can truly enter into Gods embrace and thank Him for all that He does for us.
Isiah 12v5. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.”
Throughout the evening three people spoke on what worship means to them.
Sam spoke about writing worship songs and the impact and strength the lyrics can have in comparison to secular music. The song ‘Grace’; written by the Ignite band is just one example of how powerful worship lyrics can be. “Take all I am Lord, broken and scattered” We’re all broken people, there’s pieces of us everywhere, but God accepts us despite that. We need to offer up all of our lives to God, not just little bits here and there, but every part of us.
Beth spoke of spiritual worship, how it’s not just about what we sing but how we act too!
Romans 12v1. “I appeal to you therefore, brothers and by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
God gives each of us gifts and abilities, and through using those gifts that we’re given for His glory we are able to worship Him.
Ben talked about worshiping through everything, when it hurts and even when it doesn’t. God sticks with us through our darkest moments and He’s there in our greatest. At times when we feel distant from God, worship is a way in which we can stay connected to Him. It’s also a way for us to thank God for everything He does in our lives.
Worship God through everything and with everything!
Can’t wait to see you all again in September! Have a great summer!
