February Ignite was back with a bang! At 7pm we opened the doors to over a hundred youth and youth leaders from all over the city of Chester, expectant that God would move and transform lives.
We started with our favourite pre-show ice breaker 'the monkey' led by Jonah, followed by some amazing praise and worship.
Luke Andrews brought a phenomenal word. He spoke about three men in the book of Daniel called Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were brought before King Nebuchadnezzar for refusing to worship other gods or the image of gold. King Nebuchadnezzar ordered for the three men to be tied up and thrown in to a blazing furnace, seven times hotter than usual.
Luke focussed on (Daniel 3) verse 18 which said, 'the God we serve will be able to deliver us... but even if he does not, we will not serve other gods'. We were challenged to become 'even if people'; to have enough faith to experience difficult situations but be hopeful so that even if God does not move when we want, we would still give him all the praise and glory.
After the word, we had the chance to respond by coming up to the front if we wanted to be an 'even if' person. All of the youth responded and decided to commit to strengthening their faith and pressing in to God! ... but most incredibly, we saw 11 young people give their lives to Jesus that night! Amazing!
We're so excited for the next Ignite on Friday 17th March 2017. Hope to see you there!
